Apere provides Single Sign-On to SaaS, Cloud applications as an extension to enterprise AD or SiteMinder logins. Users can login to SaaS Applications like Salesforce.com Concur and hundreds of other SaaS applications or enterprise web applications without entering the user credentials again. Apere Single Sign-On technology provides SSO support for both SAML and non-SAML applications.

1.
What is Single Sign-On in Cloud?
SaaS Applications are not integrated into enterprise Active Directory, therefore each application needs to be logged in individually. User identities for SaaS Applications tend to be corporate centric, for example: John@companyA.com, James@companyB.com etc. User names in the enterprise may or may not have a correlation to the SaaS User Id's. Users have to remember multiple User Id's and Passwords to get access to these applications. The same situation may be applicable to enterprise web applications also. Single Sign-On technology eliminates the need for a second login to SaaS and enterprise applications. Single Sign-On in cloud enables the users to login to SaaS Applications seamlessly once they are logged into enterprise AD. Any SSO solution without enterprise agents on client machines, and which operates out of a cloud is called a Single Sign-On in Cloud.
2. Why do we need Single Sign-On in Cloud?
In addition to reducing help desk calls for forgotten passwords, Single Sign- On technology also provides the key inherent advantage of Zero-Day Access Control. When a user is disabled in Active Directory, Single Sign-On needs to be disabled for the user for all the SaaS and enterprise Web applications.
3.
Is Single Sign-On accessible from outside the enterprise?
Yes, Apere's Single Sign-On technology, whether it is initiated from public, private or captive configurations is completely accessible from outside the enterprise. Combination of technology partnerships with Cisco, Citrix and Bluecoat enable Apere to provide SSO or Single Sign-On to users inside or outside the enterprise without a need for client agents.
4.
How can we make sure the enterprise security is protected with SSO?
Active Directory inside the enterprise or industry leading IAM deployments can be integrated with Apere's Single Sign-On(SSO) technology to extend the enterprise security to cloud applications. 256-bit encryptions with third party certificates and HTTPS protocol protect all communications between the users, cloud and enterprise authentication platforms for SSO.

5.
Is SAML SSO?
SAML is a mechanism that SaaS Applications can use to delegate the enterprise authentication to respective enterprises for higher security. SSO or Single Sign-On can be achieved with Apere technology where the SAML requests are transparently checked with Active Directory, IAM’s SUN-AM or SiteMinder. Once the user is logged into AD or enterprise IAM’s, they will get Single Signed-On into SaaS Applications without a login. SSO with SAML can be achieved by Apere's Cloud/Captive SSO engine by tight integration with enterprise AD or IAM.
6.
How many SaaS Applications are SAML and not-SAML?
There are 100+ SaaS Applications for enterprises and growing. There are about 7 to 10 SaaS Applications adopted by each enterprise today. 99% of applications don’t support SAML yet. Enterprises need to have a process in place or IdP support. SSO with SAML can be achieved by Apere's Cloud/Captive SSO engine by tight integration with enterprise AD or IAM.
