Apere's User Management extends enterprise application access policies by roles to internally or externally hosted virtual desktop servers. Role based user access to applications are provisioned by securing required approvals with workflow. Apere's solution extends the enterprise's current IdM investments in Oracle, Tivoli IAM solution to virtual desktop configuration seamlessly using SPML, Web Services interfaces. Apere supports access policies for hybrid configurations with combination of enterprise and hosted applications in cloud. Secure Self Service Portal enables users to request for access to specific applications. Users will then be provisioned and the Citrix Xen Application server or Virtual Desktop sever will be updated with the new profile for the user. Apere's User management engine can be deployed in Public, Private clouds or in captive configurations in enterprise data center. Apere user management engine is available for Citrix Xen Virtual Desktop and Xen Application Server. Other configurations will be announced shortly.

1.
Can the users be automatically configured with application?
Apere User Management engine integrates with enterprise Active Directory, IAM platforms like Oracle, Tivoli, CA to identify the users, their roles and their access privileges. When new users are added to AD, or group associations are changed, Apere's provisioning engine automatically rolls this information to the respective applications. Xen Application server is updated with the new application right away. Apere uses RapidConnector technology to provision the users to various enterprise and hosted cloud applications as needed. Apere currently supports over 250+ Enterprise, SaaS applications for user provisioning, de-provisioning and password management.
2.
Can users be single signed on to Virtual Desktop portal?
Yes, users will be single signed on into web Virtual Desktop portals. Active Directory logins are detected and used to log the user into the Virtual Desktop portal without second log in. This becomes a very useful solution especially when the Virtual Desktop servers are hosted in the cloud and don't have a trusted relationship with enterprise Active Directory from cloud.
3.
How can the users request for new application access?
Self service portal provides a simple interface for the end user to request for new applications, based on the user's role. Approvals will be secured by Apere's user provisioning engine before applications are provisioned.
4.
How does Zero-Day Access Control work with Virtual Desktop Application access?
When users are disabled in Active Directory or enterprise IAM', Apere de-provisioning engine reads these changes and rolls out to Virtual Desktop server and the application. Application icons are disabled in the Virtual Desktop.

5.
Is there a centralized portal for enterprise administrator to manage application User Access control?
Yes, Apere Administrator portal enables enterprise administrators to view and control access to hosted user profiles and applications that they have access to. Administrators can also generate usage reports, or restrict users using this interface.
6.
Can the Apere SharePoint Solution track number of Users for license subscriptions?
Yes, Apere's Single Sign-On solution track the number of active users using the Virtual Desktop instance,. Details such as when they were accessed, who authorized the provisioning of users, when their passwords were reset etc. is also maintained. It can also provide a list of unused licenses so that enterprises can optimize their license distribution.
